Pumpkin spice-flavored beverages are back, mornings are a bit cooler, and Freeform just announced their “31 Nights of Halloween” schedule, so you know that can only mean one thing - planner season is upon us.
Since I was aware I wouldn’t be ordering much, I opted for placing my order with JetPens over the Hobonichi Store. If you’ve never shopped with them, I’m sorry for what I’m about to tell you because, well, they rock. JetPens is, by and large, a hub for all things stationery. Everything that I’ve ever bought from them has been well-priced and arrived promptly in wonderful condition. They offer free U.S. shipping on orders over $35, and their website and YouTube channel are great resources for finding your new favorite stationery items.
However, I must note this: the last half of the year brings lots of business to small stationery stores so if you’re able to shop through them, definitely consider doing so! If you have one that you frequent, leave a comment to spread the good word. Here are a few of my favorites: the Little Craft Place (Spring, Texas), Dromgoole’s (Houston, Texas), and The Paper + Craft Pantry (Austin, Texas).
A beautifully-rich chartreuse (okay, “pistachio”) Hobonichi Techo Weeks that I’m so excited about because it’s my favorite color. Sp much so that when the company previewed new releases a few weeks ago, I decided right then and there to consider adding this planner to next year’s stack. I’m perfectly content in my pocket Leuchtturm for everyday purposes but I do think a Weeks will give me ample space to visualize and plan for, um, my weeks, which I don’t really do right now. I’ll likely be sharing more about my set-up and plans for it on Instagram, so be sure to follow along if you’re curious!
The Pentel Fude Touch Brush Sign Pen in lime green and dark brown. This (along with this) is my favorite brush pen for its balanced flexibility and buildable color. It’s so fun to letter with, and I’m very pleased to add these two new-ish colors to my collection.
“Oaktree” and “Orange Border” mt William Morris washi tapes, which have been sitting in my cart with the brush pens for literal months.
A gorgeous gold pencil cap for my Blackwing pencils that I love to use to underline and annotate while reading. Sometimes the graphite will mark up the pages when my book is closed, but this cap will prevent that happening.
Alright, let’s hear it - did you place an order for any Hobonichi items this week? If so, what did you grab? If not, what are you using instead? Any major changes or switcheroos? Let us know below!
Platforms I also frequent: Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, StoryGraph, and Goodreads
I love JetPens! Their selection and shipping time is hard to beat. I've never thought about getting a pencil cap before but that's genius. My go-to pencil is the 0.7mm Pentel P207 for work so I don't need a cap daily. You've inspired to me to start daily journaling in 2025. I'm not read to commit to the Hobonichi so I bought a clearance planner from Rifle Paper Co. over the weekend.
I ordered from JetPens as well because I just wanted one item: the Hobonichi Techo Weeks MEGA Sneaker cover in Leaf Green (very much my color right now). I am going to experiment with doing ONLY this Weeks for the first few months of 2025 and use the MEGA amount of blank back pages for journaling.... but if I miss my Cousin too much, I've given myself permission to get an April start one in the spring.
